Tyra Banks and Giselle Bundchen recently posed for them as did Joan Collins and many others before them. Movies are made about them. The mystique of female mannequins has been around for decades, and although the basic form is the same, there are changes every season.

Female Mannequins
Originally, female mannequins were wood or paperboard cutouts, some with
doweled joints for posing, with painted-on faces and underclothes.
Today, female manikins run the gamut from utilitarian, slightly formed
shapes in stark colors (also called abstract mannequins) to fully painted, realistic women with breasts,
hips and even nipples. Painted fingernails and toenails are common, as is
stylized sculpted hair.
Female mannequins may come bald and need mannequin wigs, or as just mentioned, may have molded hair. Most with molded hair can also wear wigs, if desired. They may have feet for low or high heels, thongs, or fittings to allow them to wear boots.
Mannequins Pay For Themselves
We know that high prices at the store
shouldn't stop you from choosing superior products. We've found that it's
far easier and more affordable to simply buy your mannequins online than
to find a city big enough to sell them, then pay the high display prices
they most often demand.
In fact, you can find just about all the display supplies your business needs by shopping online.
Your Display Needs
Whether you have a maternity wear store, a lingerie store or a women's
wear boutique, there are manikins for you... pregnant mannequins, sexy
mannequins, even plus size mannequins. They are available in all colors
and styles, realistic and abstract. If you don't need full manikins,
body forms are also available... panty display forms, bra displays,
hosiery legs and jewelry busts.
