Unlike composition, fiberglass and papier mache mannequins, plastic mannequins are nearly indestructible. They offer a great alternative for those visual merchandising displays that don't require a totally realistic manikin. In the past, these were more expensive than their fiberglass counterparts. Now, they are lighter-weight, easy to handle and virtually unbreakable - and less expensive.
Relatively new to the scene, plastic manikins are not particularly plentiful, nor is there a broad selection of styles or sizes. But in the right market, they make a great addition to a clothing display that may not otherwise feature any 3-D visuals. Like fiberglass, a plastic mannequin is rigid and static. Make sure to buy the pose you like best; this mannequin will not be adjustable.
