Transparent Mannequins

Transparent mannequins are often used to display wedding gowns, prom dresses and other evening wear. Female mannequins, transparent or not, are the most essential display tools that clothing retailers have. There is no substitute for being able to see clothing displayed on a three-dimensional figure. There is no imagination required; a mannequin displays how the fabric hangs, where the hemline falls, whether the fabric is sheer.

Some stores' styles do not go well with transparent mannequins, as they are rather cold and utilitarian... others, more modern (perhaps stainless and glass) accept them very well. Before buying manikins, think through how your entire store will look. Are you after a warm, rich feel? Do you sell silks, cashmere, fur? If so, transparent manikins may not be for you. On the other hand, if you sell bright, light fabrics or plan a space-age store, they will probably better fit your brand than a realistic mannequin.
